Khao Yai is Thailand's most famous National Park. Five vegetation zones lying between an altitude of 60m and 1,440m cover an area of more than 2000 sq. km. The golf vacations in Asia natural environment of thickly forested hillsides, rushing streams, and cascading waterfalls provides a haven for numerous species flora and fauna including tigers, elephants, bears leopards and tropical birds. In recognition of its unique natural character, Khao Yai has recently been declared a World Heritage Park. While at one time a flourishing golf haven for local golfers, the area has come on hard times in the recent past with two of the courses closed and only one a real great play - KiriMaya, a Jack Nicklaus designed course is worthy of play. Kindly note, it is a 2 and 1/2 hour drive from any Marriott Hotel in Bangkok however the excellent course conditions and beautiful scenery may be enough to entice the avid golfer wanting a new experience in Thailand on their golf vacation.
